Earlier today, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, officially launched the digital portal for the National Youth Confab 2025 — a defining moment for youth inclusion and leadership in Nigeria.
A Movement, Not Just a Conference
With the theme “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the National Youth Confab 2025 is more than just a gathering, it is a generational turning point.
It is designed to be:
- Youth-led
- Inclusive
- Non-partisan
- Transformational
According to the Minister, this initiative seeks to co-create youth-informed, youth-approved, and youth-led solutions that speak directly to the needs and aspirations of Nigeria’s vibrant youth population.
This groundbreaking announcement marks the formal commencement of a national platform that will bring together young Nigerians from all 774 Local Government Areas, the diaspora, and every sector of society to participate in shaping the future of Nigeria.
Thematic Pillars of Youth Confab 2025
The Confab will focus on six bold thematic pillars, providing a framework for dialogue and policy recommendations:
- Governance, Leadership, and Political Participation
– Increasing youth participation in democratic institutions and governance. - Economic Transformation, Entrepreneurship, and Job Creation
– Unleashing youth-led economic growth through innovation and job creation. - Education and Skills for the Future
– Reforming education to meet 21st-century realities. - Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation
– Accelerating Nigeria’s competitiveness in a digital-first world. - Climate Change and Energy Transition
– Building resilience and sustainability in the face of environmental change. - Social Inclusion and Security
– Promoting equity, peace, and protection for all youth, including vulnerable groups.
Who Can Participate?
All Nigerian youth aged 18–35 are encouraged to apply with 10% aged 35-40. This includes:
- Students
- Entrepreneurs
- Creatives
- Young professionals
- Community leaders
- Diaspora youth
Participants will be selected across Nigeria’s 774 LGAs and the diaspora to ensure full representation.
What Makes Youth Confab 2025 Unique?
- Grassroots Engagement: Youth consultations will happen at constituency, zonal, and diaspora levels.
- Policy Impact: Outcomes from the confab will be documented, harmonized, and submitted to the Federal Executive Council and relevant ministries for implementation.
