The Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives (Monitoring and Delivery), Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, flagged off the specialized mechatronics training for selected youths in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The training, done in collaboration with the National Design and Development Council (NADDC) and DAG BAJAJ is one of the interventions from the Automotive Conference held by the office last year.

Since the conference, we have recorded many trainings to upskill youths in the automotive sector. We appreciate the Director General of NADDC, Otunba Joseph Osanipin for his commitment to the partnership between our offices and his devotion to the growth of the automotive industry.

This training programme serves a dual purpose: it supports the government’s National Gas Expansion Programme
(NGEP) and the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG), while simultaneously equipping young Nigerians with the technical competence and entrepreneurship skills needed to participate meaningfully in the nation’s transport and energy ecosystem.

Through this specialized training, the Federal Government seeks to build a new cadre of mechatronics experts capable of maintaining both petrol and CNG-powered tricycles, thereby enhancing the efficiency of local transportation systems, reducing unemployment, and fostering inclusive economic growth.

The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives (M&D) remains committed to ensuring that such programmes are monitored, evaluated, and scaled to reach even more young Nigerians across the country.

We thank our implementation partner; DAG BAJAJ for their presence and support for this initiative.
