National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)

STATUS:  OPEN — All Currently Mobilised Corps Members (450,000 targeted in 2026)

WHO CAN APPLY:  All mobilised National Youth Service Corps members (current serving corps members in Batch A, B, and C). The Federal Government approved 50,000 additional NYSC slots for 2026 — approximately 450,000 corps members mobilised this year.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE:  Free practical skills training in 20+ vocational and entrepreneurial tracks during orientation camp and throughout the service year. Tracks include: software development, AI and mobile app development (new December 2025 curriculum), fashion design, food processing, solar energy installation, agribusiness, photography, and more. Access to SAED business grants, startup kits, mentorship, and the NYSC-BOI ₦2 billion MSME loan facility.
GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE:  National — All 36 States + FCT across all NYSC orientation camps and state secretariats

HOW TO APPLY — STEP BY STEP:

1.   SAED participation begins automatically for all corps members upon arrival at your NYSC orientation camp.

2.   Attend the SAED awareness lecture held during camp orientation — this introduces available skill tracks.

3.   Select a skill area matching your interest or long-term career goal during camp registration.

4.   Participate actively in in-camp training sessions in your chosen skill.

5.   For advanced post-camp training: locate an accredited SAED training centre in your PPA area via https://saed.nysc.org.ng

6.   Register on SAEDConnect at https://www.nysc.gov.ng/saedconnect.html for online training, mentorship, and funding opportunities.

7.   For the NYSC-BOI MSME Loan: develop a business plan and apply at https://portal.nysc.org.ng — log in and click ‘SAED Registration’.

8.   For SAED business grants: develop your idea during camp training and present at the NYSC-organised pitch competition during orientation.

NOTE:  50,000 additional NYSC slots approved for 2026 — total mobilisation approximately 450,000. AI and mobile app development added to SAED curriculum in December 2025. The ₦2 billion BOI-NYSC loan fund is specifically for corps members with viable business plans developed through SAED.
