Nigeria Launches 10-Year Youth-Led Agricultural Plan

The Federal Government has officially launched a 10-year agricultural renewal plan driven by young Nigerians, designed to transform the nation’s food systems and strengthen the economy.

Speaking at the UN Food Systems Summit in Addis Ababa, Vice President Kashim Shettima highlighted that the plan aligns with the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) and emphasizes youth engagement, public-private partnerships, and job creation in agriculture.

He noted that the Tinubu administration is already backing the initiative through targeted investments in value addition and agro-processing, ensuring fewer raw material exports and stronger local economies.

By reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to the CAADP 2026–2036 Kampala Declaration, the Vice President described the new plan as a comprehensive roadmap to:

  • Empower Nigerian youth in agriculture 🌱
  • Build resilient food systems 🍲
  • Create sustainable jobs 💼
  • Drive national and regional development 🌍

This bold step ensures that Nigerian youth are not just participants but leaders in shaping the future of agriculture.
